Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce Announces Grand Opening of New Willkommen (Welcome) Center
Celebration set for February 14, 2026, ceremony starts at 12:45pm with the ribbon cutting at 1:00 pm, in the heart of downtown Leavenworth
LEAVENWORTH, Wash. The Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the grand opening of its new Willkommen (Welcome) Center on February 14, 2026, marking an exciting new chapter for visitor services in the heart of downtown Leavenworth.
For Executive Director Troy Campbell, the opening fulfills a vision shaped by the growing demand for in-person visitor services in Leavenworth. In 2024, the Leavenworth Welcome Center served more than 78,000 visitors, the highest annual visitation of any visitor center in Washington State, according to a recent Washington State Destination Marketing Organization (WSDMO) survey. Even with abundant travel information available online, visitors continue to seek out personal, one-on-one assistance and trusted local recommendations—reinforcing the need for a highly visible, centrally located Welcome Center in the heart of downtown.
“This Welcome Center has been a dream of mine since my earliest days with the Chamber,” said Troy Campbell, Executive Director of the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce. “To see it come to life on Front Street, in a building with such deep roots in our Bavarian story, is incredibly meaningful. This space truly feels like a front porch for our community—a place where visitors are welcomed, oriented, and invited to experience everything that makes Leavenworth special. I’m deeply grateful to our Board, our partners, and everyone who helped turn this vision into reality.”
The Welcome Center was thoughtfully designed by Syndicate Smith and beautifully constructed by Rimmer & Roeter Construction, reflecting a shared commitment to craftsmanship, placemaking, and community pride.
Syndicate Smith envisioned the space as warm, familiar, and inviting, evoking the feeling of arriving home. Drawing inspiration from Leavenworth’s Bavarian-inspired identity, amenities, and traditions, the design reinterprets historic elements in fresh and engaging ways, creating an immersive environment that reflects the town’s character, values, and sense of place.
“It’s been incredibly rewarding to collaborate with the Chamber on a project so thoughtfully aligned with the long-term success of the town,” said Todd Smith, Founding Partner of Syndicate Smith. “We’re equally honored to partner with Rimmer & Roeter, whose craftsmanship helped bring this vision to life.”
Located at 645 Front Street, the building itself holds special historical significance. Records indicate that the property was owned by Price and Rodgers in February 1966, placing it squarely within the early, foundational period of Leavenworth’s Bavarian transformation. Today, the space carries that legacy forward while serving the needs of a modern visitor experience.
The February 14 grand opening is especially fitting, as it coincides with The Village of Lights: Love from Leavenworth, the town’s annual celebration of winter charm, local shopping, heartfelt hospitality, and Valentine-themed light displays in the downtown. As part of the festivities, midweek visitors will also be welcomed with Leavenworth’s beloved glass heart tradition, celebrating community, craftsmanship, and love for the village.
The grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting are open to the public.
